Contemporary blues singer/songwriter and bass player Danielle Nicole comes from a long line of singers and musicians and grew up playing the blues. Growing up in Kansas City, Missouri, she began her music career in her early teens, singing at local coffee houses and open mikes. At 16, she became lead singer in her father's band. In 2000, she started her own soul-blues band, Trampled Under Foot.
Nicole's distinctive, inventive bass work resulted in her becoming the first woman to win the Blues Foundation's 2014 Blues Music Award for Best Instrumentalist. She released her widely acclaimed debut album Wolf Den in 2015. Her second solo album Cry No More, set for release in February 2018, features appearances by such notable guitarists as Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Walter Trout. The album establishes her as a formidable solo artist and bandleader of soulful blues.
