Blues Rock – Texas Blues

For more than four decades, the guitar-slinging Texan legend and four-time Grammy Award winner Jimmie Vaughan has been earning his living rockin’ the blues and having a good ol’ time doing it. In the mid ‘70s, Vaughan founded The Fabulous Thunderbirds with Kim Wilson sharing the stage and jamming with such blues greats as Muddy Waters, Buddy Guy, and B.B. King. With some eight albums and years of worldwide touring, The Fabulous Thunderbirds brought the blues back into the pop charts sparking a blues revival that continues unabated today. Right before leaving the band in 1990, Vaughan made the Grammy Award winning album Family Style together with his younger brother and blues legend Stevie Ray Vaughan. The critically acclaimed album Strange Pleasure (1994) marked the start of Vaughan’s successful career as a solo artist and bandleader. His clean, uncluttered style, using raw emotion and powerful elegance, communicates exactly what he feels inside. Vaughan lets his guitar do the talking.
